Junior Web Developer
Job Description:
The Web Developer will initiate, design, implement, and maintain public or internal web resources for the company and clients.
1. Report to the head of IP Applications
2. Support and improve existing company applications using: PHP/AJAX/CSS/XML/XSL/MySQL/DHTML/ WEB Services
3. Implement databases in support of web application development.
Responsibilities:
The Web Developer will:
1. Deliver documentation for each project including but not limited to
- Technication Specifications
- Test Plans (Unit/Integration)
- Deployment and Package Documentation
2. Provide weekly reports on hours spent on registered Project Tasks and ad-hoc support or miscellaneous work.
3. Facilitate discussion about web resources and initiate new web sites or content areas as appropriate
4. Create and present proposals and requirements for new web applications.
5. Draft new web applications and provide for client, end user, and peer review.
6. Design and implement any databases required for new applications using an approved database.
7. Implement new web applications using appropriate web application development technologies.
8. Maintain, upgrade, and support existing or new web applications, or delegate as appropriate.
9. Monitor and respond appropriately to Co’s internal ticketing system and monitoring systems
10. Respond appropriately to all requests for information by Co staff timely and/or escalate accordingly.
11. Review and contribute to Co’s internal knowledge database
12. Support/Maintain Development Environment under guidance from IT Operations
Skills required:
Combined 0-3years of experience in the following areas:
Experience in web architecure, web site design, web site maintenance, and web content maintenance.
Experience in web application development and database design.
Technical Understanding of Web Development Platforms and Tools (Unix, LAMP, Xen, CentOS)
